Our members collaborate on a broad variety of projects and topics. From water, to SMEs or our members conduct research and generate knowledge around the globe.

RTO Innovation Summit in Brussels, Belgium

The European RTO innovation Summit took place on the 7th & 8th of November, 2018. The theme of the summit was –Creating Impact through Research. The Summit featured 15 technical workshops and 36 exhibitions that included topics relevant to the audience as well as other important topics like how to work with EU Horizon Europe.  The Summit was a result of a collaboration between 10 European RTOs including WAITRO members such as DTI, Fraunhofer and TNO.








Innovation Camp in India: Water in Urban Areas

The Danish Innovation network “Water in Urban Areas” along with Danish SMEs, RTOs, Water Utilities and Municipalities visited India in the last week of November 2018 (24th Nov to 1st December). Director Ulrik Hindsberger of the DTI Pipe Centre was part of the delegation that also included WAITRO-member SRI (India). The purpose was to map techno-innovative interventions for storm water and wastewater management in India and to promote Indo-Danish research and business alliances.







DTI explores RTOs and Industry in Brazil

DTI executives visited Brazil (14-18 Jan, 2019) to get an insight into South American food and bio resource technologies. Other visits included visits to the Fraunhofer IPK as well as WAITRO-member IPT, who showed their impressive laboratories for corrosion and materials testing to the group. Future possibilities for collaboration within the WAITRO network were discussed.








New joint project of WAITRO-members DTI and CIDET on Support for SMEs

WAITRO-members CIDET from Colombia and DTI from Denmark and  joined forces for a new innovation project on Products and Services Development Support for SMEs. The project will have Mr. Hilding-Hamann, from DTI’s Cenre for Ideas and Innovation, coach CIDET employees on facilitating innovation through collaborating with SMEs. The timeframe for the project is one year. It was kicked off in February 2019 in Medellin with sessions on how to motivate SMEs to embark on technological innovation and on offering services like prototyping and testing as part of the innovation process.
