CALL FOR APPLICATION ON CAPABILITY BUILDING OF RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY ORGANIZATIONS IN WAITRO FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME IN MACHINERY AND TOOLING TECHNOLOGY

The World Association of Industrial and Technological Organizations (WAITRO) is pleased to invite applications from members to participate in WAITRO Research Fellowship Programme (WRFP) in Machinery and Tooling Technology at the SIRIM Berhad, Malaysia from October 12 – December 4, 2009.

The Objective of the WAITRO Research Fellowship Programme (WRFP) is to introduce scientists and researchers in the early stages of their careers to research opportunities abroad.

Information about the WRFP is contained in the Aide-Memoire.

International Conference on Electron Beam Irradiation:
An Eco-friendly Technology for Processing of Food and Industrial Products

Singapore, 27 – 28 July 2009


We are pleased to announce the EU – South East Asia Expert Meeting on Vector Borne Diseases will be held in Singapore on 27 and 28 July 2009. The primary objective of the workshop is to bring together scientific experts to identify opportunities for collaboration and from consortia to bid into upcoming EU FP7 calls on vector borne diseases.


The workshop will take an integrated approach to research and will focus on a spectrum of vector borne diseases, including Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya and Encephalitis, as well as other relevant newly emerging infections. It will develop a co-ordinated and joint approach between researchers specialising in different disciplines including virology, parasitology, transmission, epidemiology, diagnostic approaches and/or treatment and prevention strategies, including public health-relevant questions, as well as infections natural cycles, including basic biology of vectors and diseases reservoirs and how to control them.
