The FEMIP Internship Programme:  Building Capacity in Mediterranean Partner Countries

The Internship Programme is open to students who are nationals of the Mediterranean partner countries (Algeria, Egypt, Gaza/West bank, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey). The goal of the Programme is to offer successful candidates an opportunity to improve their skills as well as the experience of working in an international multicultural environment.

To be eligible for the Internship Programme, candidates must have a degree from or be in the final year of a course at an institute of higher education.  Generally, successful candidates will have enrolled on a graduate study programme (be pursuing a master’s degree) and already have some work experience.

How to apply?
Interested candidates must submit their applications online at www.eib.org/jobs. Candidates must also submit their CVs and should include one letter of recommendation, preferably from a professor. Only those identified for an assignment will be contacted to discuss their application and availability. Candidates are selected by a panel on a highly competitive basis.  The application period for the Programme is 15 July to 25 September 2008.

CALL FOR APPLICATION ON CAPABILITY BUILDING OF RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY ORGANIZATIONS IN WAITRO FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME IN CHEMISTRY SCIENCE

The World Association of Industrial and Technological Organizations (WAITRO) is pleased to invite applications from members to participate
in WAITRO Research Fellowship Programme (WRFP) in Chemistry Science at the Research Center for Chemistry, Indonesian Institute of Sciences
(RCChem-LIPI) from October 21 - December 18, 2008.

The Objective of the WAITRO Research Fellowship Programme (WRFP) is to introduce scientists and researchers in the early stages of their

WAITRO in partnership with SIRIM Berhad will be organising an International Conference on 'Turning Technology Innovation Into Profit' from August 12-14, 2008. It is held in conjuction with 19th WAITRO General Assembly and Biennial Congress.

The conference offers a unique opportunity to share experience in applying various innovation models in various countries. It is set to explore strategies, processes, concepts, models and tools that have been proven to work and will also examine novel ideas and approaches to identify innovations based on market needs and develop them for commercialisation. The conference participants will have the opportunity of listening to success stories from esteemed international speakers, finding potential partners for collaboration in business-technology matching as well as showcasing their technological innovations meeting the global market needs.

The Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) of Malaysia has successfully organized the first International Conference on Research Advances in Kuala Lumpur on 28-29 November 2007.  The conference provided an excellent platform for internationally renowned and local expertise in the area of Research and Development in Halal Industry to network and share their findings and experiences.  Among the attendees were Syariah experts and Halal Scientists from academia, government and Islamic bodies.
