Global Survey of the Living Conditions of Rural Women

What is the Global Survey?

We know that the voices of rural women are the hardest to hear, and we want to change this.

The data from this survey will be published and shared with governments, policymakers and Non-Governmental Organisation partners around the world.

This survey is being co-ordinated by the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) and World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organisations (WAITRO), under the auspices of the International Forum on Rural Women (IFRW).

We are keen to engage with NGO partners, to reach as broad a range of respondents as possible.

Whilst individuals are welcome to respond from rural communities anywhere in the world, we are asking those NGO partners who are helping conduct the survey to try and ensure that at least 10 women respond in any given community. This will help with data collection and analysis, and ensure that our results are meaningful. The survey can be taken online at www.ifrw.org.uk, by mobile, or shared via Social Media.

The survey will open on 15 March 2018, and be open for response until 30 December 2018 (290 days). Initial data will be available in February 2019, in time for feedback to CSW63, and the full data pack will be published in April 2019 at the 29th Triennial World Conference of the Associated Country Women of the World in Melbourne, Australia.

Want to be an NGO partner?

We want to work with as many NGOs and members of Civil Society as possible. We are keen to ensure that this survey reaches as many people as possible, and so have provided it in the six languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish), and will publish additional translations as we are able. If you are willing to offer a translation into an additional language, please contact us as soon as possible.

If you would like to register interest, please go to http://www.ifrw.org.uk/ngo-partners.html for more information.
